The Desire to Serve
It is Remembrance Day and I am thinking about all my relatives who fought in wars. A deep sadness spreads in my chest. My outer eyes move over the Pacific Ocean and stay with the expanse of space while my inner eyes wander over military graveyards in Europe with...

Cancer and the Sin of Excessive Growth
“Excessive growth is a sin”, I heard spiritual teacher Thomas Huebl say. His words jolted in my body. In that moment Thomas lost me as a listener. In front of my inner eyes all the people emerged that I had treated with cancer in forty years of practicing. I saw all...
Toxic Waste
My thoughts wander over the ocean to another continent, to Africa. A little while ago I read an article in a magazine that in many areas up to 80% of the African vultures disappeared. They died through medication. Farmers increasingly use chemical anti-inflammatories on old cows. It reduces their joint pain and they can be used longer to pull a cart or a plough. Eventually they die and the vultures that take care of the dead body die with them.

Journey of a Thousand Miles
Photo: Vlad Bagacian / Pexels Today I got an email from a homeopathic colleague who once had studied with me. “The other morning I met a friend who is going through a rough time, feeling numb to life, sick and tired of feeling she has to change herself, hating...
Herring Alarm
Photo: elcarito / unsplash Two days ago I looked up from eating and out of the window. There was a strange cloud above the water. I grabbed my binoculars and held my breath: Hundreds and hundreds of seagulls and among them about forty to fifty eagles. They all...
Harvesting Dolphin – The Making of a Remedy
Foto: L. Garcia / Unsplash A young woman had seen me for a post-concussion syndrome. Since her accident she experienced anxiety, disturbed sleep and poor concentration. What impressed me most when I took her case was her deep connection to the ocean. She loved...
The Intrepid Deer
We were not far from shore when we saw an animal going into the water and starting swimming toward the open water. A fast glance through the binoculars showed that it was a deer, a young buck, horns just as long as its ears. We got a little closer and kept watching. To our amazement, this young buck swam from the mainland shore toward Vancouver Island! He clearly saw us but the presence of two humans on a boat did not distract him from the direction he had chosen.

The Message Of The Whale
Heeding The Call A few hours ago, I crawled out of a sweat lodge, sweating and steaming and gasping for air. I was elated because the understanding of what whale had been teaching me was revealed during the ceremony. But let me slow down and tell you what had...
The Six in the Healing Arts
Once again I was preparing a homeopathic remedy with students, one of my favorite topics to teach. They sat quietly for hours, grinding a tiny piece of a herb with mortar and pestle, diluting it with milk sugar, in the end dissolving it in an alcoholic solution and...
